The National Gugak Center is pleased to announce the 2026 International Gugak Workshop.

Up to 15 participants
Workshop Overview
The workshop includes lectures on Korean traditional music, instrumental instruction, composition workshops, and related programs. For your reference, please see the attached 2025 workshop schedule.
Benefits
1. Round-trip Flights
Round-trip airfare from an international airport near the participant’s residence to Seoul (Incheon or Gimpo Airport) will be provided.
Participants are required to purchase their own airline tickets in advance.
The National Gugak Center will reimburse the airfare at the beginning of the first week of the workshop, subject to the following maximum limits:
● Asia: KRW 500,000
● Oceania & Africa: KRW 1,500,000
● North America: KRW 1,800,000
● Europe & Middle East: KRW 1,000,000
● Latin America: KRW 2,000,000
2. Accommodation
Hotel accommodation will be provided for the duration of the workshop.
Eligibility
● Music professionals, including composers, performers, producers, and music festival coordinators
● Scholars and students in music composition, ethnomusicology, musicology, music education,
or related fields (Applicants should preferably hold a bachelor’s degree or higher)
● Applicants must be fluent in English
● Applicants must hold citizenship of a country other than the Republic of Korea
● Applicants must be able to participate in the entire workshop schedule

● Curriculum Vitae (maximum 2 pages)
● Letter(s) of Recommendation (optional)
