  ○ 2021 Gugak 人(IN) = 국악인: 예인집단 아재 '왈자 줄타기'[10.20.]의 첫 번째 프로그램 ○ 프로그램 해설 코로나 19로 인해 일상생활을 빼앗긴 지 1년이 넘은 시점, 사람들은 지쳐있고 휴식이 필요한 상황이다. 공연을 하는 왈자(출연진)들은 이러한 사람들의 입장을 대변하는 역할을 하며 줄타기의 해학적인 재담을 코로나 시국에 맞게 바꿔 공연한다. 본 작품은 놀기 좋아하고 천방지축인 ‘왈자’들이 코로나 1-9로 사람들이 모이기 힘든 요즘, 푸른 들판에 모여 코로나 19가 종식되기를 염원하며 줄타기를 통해 한바탕 재밌게 노는 것을 표현한 작품이다. Over a year into the COVID-19 occupying everyone’s life, the exhausted people desperately need a break. The performers staging the show (called “Walzas”) adapt funny lines uttered during a tightrope walk to fit the circumstances under the pandemic, comforting and entertaining audiences. In a time when an unprecedented plague has turned social gathering into a life-threatening occasion, this work portrays a scene where fun-loving and freewheeling walzas assemble in a green meadow and perform an exciting session of tightrope walking in hopes for the end of the coronavirus pandemic.

  ○ 출연/예인집단 아재 - 줄광대/남창동, 어릿광대/남상동 - 타악/김민정, 해금/김세진, 피리/김현승, 타악/박솔아, 대금/이청준, 피리/임송언, 타악/주인공 - 한국의 전통 줄타기를 기반으로 다양한 창작을 시도하는 국악단체이다. 창법, 주법, 타법 등 모든 것의 기본이 되는 전통의 중요성을 간과하지 않으면서도 전통의 원형에 국한되지 않는 자유로운 음악을 추구한다. 예로부터 전국을 유랑하며 사람들을 울리고 웃기는 공연을 선보였던 유랑예인집단의 의미를 계승해 음악과 퍼포먼스를 통해 사람들에게 힘을 주고 마음을 치유하는 단체가 되는 것이 목표이다. AJAE is a Gugak group engaging in diverse creative activities, based on Korea’s traditional art of tightrope walking. While appreciating traditions that provide the basis for everything including methods of singing, instrument playing, and percussion stroking, the band seeks free music that goes beyond the traditions’ original form. The band aims to provide encouragement and serenity through the power of music and performance by following in the footsteps of aritist groups of the past that presented various entertaining shows while wandering around the entire country.
